Having software technology in the classroom will provide a different type of support forstudents during assessment.  Utilizing software technology apps products in the classroom for learning has become a valuable tool for students when they are taking assessments or exams.  However, utilizing software technology tools devices have eliminated the traditional paper and pencil that was distributed and collected and graded was all time consuming for teachers.  Nonetheless, having access to the free Google software app installed is  a great technology tool being used in the schools for various educational purposes; which has made a significant impact on supporting teachers in their lessons plans and providing additional educational learning techniques/skills in aiding students to learn.  (“Google application for education is a free suite of hosted communication and collaboration applications designed for schools and universities. Technology to Facilitate Ongoing Efforts to Assess Student Learning 

Teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff who are directly participating in a student’s education should be familiar with various type of software technology tools to support the students learning and comprehending that subject.  However, the supervising teacher will plan the lesson by following the curriculum and research the most effective software technology tool to be utilizes when facilitating to the entire group. Therefore, an effective teacher is unfailing in finding new software programs to enhance the students understanding, collect data on the progress of the students understand the subject and have total control over the class and providing educational support so that student or students achieve their goals.  Having a variety of software technology tools can provide clearer understand when the teacher introduces upcoming special class projects is a great opportunity to get students interested and involved.  Google, Jing, and Inspire data, and virtual dissecting software are tools that can be used to meet the needs of the student or students that are being services to succeed.


Google app software have a variety programs/docs that teacher can use in the class. Whenever the teacher need to a send letter to the parents the teacher use the translated feature in google doc to send the letter by e-mail.   The teacher can use google doc spreadsheet to keep track of a student homework by assigning the student a private number shared with the parents too.   However, if in the event a conference is required with the parents the teacher would use a google spread sheet to schedule an appointment.  In addition you can use google spreadsheet and forms to collect data.  (Google.Com)

Virtual Dissecting Software:

Using the virtual dissecting software packages is a tool that both student and teacher like using because it is have another type way to dissect an abject than the traditional way.   The dissecting software is exciting, clean and not smelly like the odor of formaldehyde.  There are a variety of businesses that offer students and teachers a complete package on virtual dissection CD/DVD on a variety of animals to dissect in the lab.  In addition this virtual dissecting software have a Web page online that students and teachers can practice by viewing the demos.  However, this virtual dissecting software tool is used in the high school science lab.

Inspire Data

Inspire Data software is a visual application that is use to motivate students to do learn how to do critical thinking, look things from another point of view.  This type of software help students to analyze real life situation in the world with this software.  Inspire students to gather data and discover different trends and why they change at various times in life. Inspire data provide teacher exciting opportunity to introduce their students literacy that would interesting to the whole group to share idea and another way of getting all the students involve. Inspire data software application both student and teacher can collect data.

Formative and Summative Assessments

Formative assessment is the teacher observing the student or students in the classroom.   However, observation will support feedback that will benefit the teacher to recognize the students’ strengths, weaknesses and focus on subject that need to target. Google software application spreadsheet the teacher can be used to collect data for an formative assessment that will be provide to the student and parent by e-mail.  Summative assessment are used after a topic have been completed by comparing against standard or benchmark and have a higher grading point. Summative assessment can use google, inspire data, and virtual dissecting software application as students are comprehending and understand the information

Edmodo assessment can be used for grade k-12th common core standards.  Clicking on the snapshot icon the teacher class and grade level will appear.   Edmodo allows students take quizzes or test from their technology device either in school or at home and immediately feedback to the teacher.  Summative assessments is used after a unit is completed and a test is given for a grade.

Blog #3: Differentiating Instruction through Technology


Differentiating instruction through technology is how the teacher will determine what technology tool or tools will be adequate to use in her classroom.  Basic technology tools are a great start to accommodate any class; but sometimes the teacher may need a different type of technology tool or devices for special need students to learn. There are a several kind of learning techniques to assist students to achieve their fullness potential in the classroom such as visual technology, touch screens, listening devices and handheld adapt devices etc.. Nonetheless, the teacher should plan know how to fully operate any technology that is needed for any student or students that could requires a different learning style.

Technology to Differentiate Instruction              Smartboard/whiteboard: The classroom in 21st century are filled with students from all types of backgrounds, cultural, genders, different languages, religion and economics problems. Using the smartboard/whiteboard in the classroom to differentiate a variety of learning and styles will assist students in their education to be successful.   Teacher must look at the content of curriculum and see what modification could be used to achieve wide range of learning diversity in the classroom.

Smartboard/whiteboard is a technology device tool that is used with a computer and the projector that students can visualize, understand, hear, touch, and meet their learning capacity of that skill in the lesson. The smartboard/white board device tool allow the teacher to replay the lesson on the smartboard/whiteboard multiple times to ensure that students are achieving, grasping, and staying motivated and interested in the lesson.   Teacher must look at the content of curriculum and see if there are any type of modification that could be added in the lesson when there is a wide range of learning diversity in the classroom. Adjustments in the curriculum could change a student’s attitude in learning the materials when they fully understand the lesson materials will make a student feel hopeful that are reaching their goals and requirements for that class.

Smartboard/whiteboard have allow the teacher an opportunity to work with the entire group and circulate the classroom during instructions to observe students that are having a difficult time.


Laptop: The laptop technology device is an excellent tool to have students to use in the classroom. Students can work together or individually on special assignments to encourage and enhance learning amongst themselves.   Individual use of the laptops provide students a chance to work independently and responsibly at their desk to research and explore information on the internet for their class assignments. Cell Phone: Cell phones are a great handheld device that will allow students to take photos of information and materials of the smartboard/whiteboard and record classroom lecture notes. This type of tool can differentiate instruction by students being responsible for organizing their assignments and e-mailing homework assignments.   Students are provided cell phone handheld devices that are program to take test or exams that eliminate processing and checking papers. Pros and Cons

               Pro of having technology in the classroom will provide differentiate instruction in a variety styles that the teacher can communicate with students.   Technology in the classroom have assist students to learn the lesson and obtain their goals to be successful. Implementing various technology will enlighten students learning abilities and comprehension of wanting to learn. Technology also provide students independences to research information and materials on the internet with classmates or individual assignments. By having technology differentiate instruction in the lesson for varies students’ needs have motivated students to get involve and take part in class participation that was having trouble.

Cons having technology in the classroom differentiate instruction that students have not grasp how to use pen and paper to write. The teacher need to incorporate some type of writing assignment by demonstrating it on the board or fine a writing program on the computer that student can watch on the smartboard/whiteboard and practice writing.

The smartboard/whiteboard is a great technology tool that have caught the interest of educators to use in their classrooms.  However, the recognition of using electronic technology devices have accommodated teachers in collaborating to the whole groups in an effective influential learning technique style.

In addition, the teacher can display information of the topic being taught on the screen for note taking, play videos, music and games.  Smartboard/whiteboard can be implemented in an Accounting Business curriculum by using media such as YouTube accounting videos, students can write their formula on the board and use free web software application on the internet.

SmartBoard/White Board Technology

Smartboard/whiteboard digital technology visuals and audio can support the teacher in planning techniques to communicate the class assignments.  Whereas, the lesson is presented by utilizing visuals with the smartboard to improve teaching and imparting information into the students to comprehend.   However, audio technology  can be utilizes with the  smartboard/whiteboard to assist the teacher by incorporating a class participation that will allow the teacher to see how many students are paying attention and listening  by implementing a discussion to get students involved.  Visual and Audio technology technique are tools that can be used for Business Education Classes from 6th – 12th grade.

Smartboard/Whiteboard Technology

Smartboard/whiteboard is a method that teachers communicate with.  Nevertheless, the technology is approachable and user friendly to enhance any lesson being taught and improve the teachers’ teaching skills.  However, smartboard/whiteboard technology have nearly eradicate and done away with teachers spending so much time giving out papers, writing the entire lessons on boards, students losing important class documents,  and foremost student are showing an interest in learning by using technology.  Nonetheless, using smartboard/whiteboard in Business math curriculum will allow the teacher target specific difficulties that students are having and getting students involve by answering questions and writing directly on the board.

The pros of having different technology in the classroom is a benefit to the teacher and students an interacting and communicating in a method that is effective for learning.


The cons of technology in the classroom rob students from learning traditional basics of using the pen and paper and reading from a textbook.  However, students do not respect the property that the schools provide for free by mishandling and destroying digital technology such as laptops, desktops, smartphones, and smartboard/whiteboard and the projectors in the classroom.  Consequently, to have technology repairs or replacements of equipment is costly and sometimes it is hard to replace depending on the school budget or if the parents can effort to replace equipment that have been deliberately destroy by students.

Wired and Wireless Classrooms

The pro and cons of having wired and wireless devices depends on the individual and cost and what they want.  Wired device are accessible, cost less, the equipment is less, low maintenance and last a very long time and usually stationary and quality of services is good. However, the cons is the wired devices are attractive by dampness and weather problems.

Introduction        Technology is used nearly in every capacity of our lives.  Nevertheless, technology nowadays can be founded in churches, stores, schools, institution, hospital, public transportation, automobiles, and restaurants and in our homes etc…   Having technology in the classroom will expose students how to process and research information for assignments.  Getting students excited and interested in surfing the internet can be a rewarding and challenging activity to explore global communities.

Technology to Enhance Communication

Smart Board:  The smart board/whiteboard can be used with a projector and computer will allow the teacher to find a wide range materials to enhance the lesson so students can have a clearer understanding.  (“The set up can consist of a desk or ceiling mounted data projector and computer or can work on a totally integrated system as is the case for rear projection SMART Boards. Parents:  Main reason for parents having their children bring a cell phone to school allow the parent immediate contact with their child.   Also, parents want to contact their children first if there is a family emergency and arrangement for child care have change. Students: Students should be allow to use their cell phones in school like any other digital technology device.  Having a cell phone in class allow students the chance to do their research for assignments, take class notes, record lectures and take pictures of graphs etc… Students should be able to text theirs parents or call them on break if they are experience a hard time that day in school.

Global community:  Cell phones is just like any other computer device that can be used to e-mail other students across the globe.  Student can share information about their cultural backgrounds that is required for assignment.

Desktop computer: Is a stationary device that sit on a desk.  Desktops take up a lot of space.  Mobile device have become popular and teachers allow students to bring them school and they can sit at their desk and work…

Parents:  Desktop are facing out in the schools since mobile device take up less room. Communication Internet Security and Safety

Teachers and students need to be aware that there is no safe internet security. When students are on the internet they should be monitor and told not to go on any other sites and if something should pop up that is inappropriate should be reported to the teacher.
